Gerard LeRoux, René Brown & Nick Lopez
He was born in South Africa in 1957.
At the age of ten, he was appointed as soloist boy soprano at the internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Boys Choir, where he had his first introduction to foreign languages, spanning a repertoire of twelve languages. At the age of eleven he recorded the Messiah of Handel as well as a collection of classical works.
After matriculating in 1975 in Pretoria, he completed his degree in psychology through the University of South Africa. Concurrently, he attended courses in Sociology, Communication Science, Practical Afrikaans and Italian.
He then became a member of the opera ensemble of the State Theatre in Pretoria, where his international career as opera tenor was launched. During the next thirty years his engagements took him to major theatres in South Africa, Germany, France, Italy, and Sweden.
In 2009, Gérard le Roux decided to change direction, specializing as communication consultant, applying the experience he had gained in the theatre and on the stage to the consultation and support of business executives who need to hone their skills in Business English.
Together with René Brown and Nick Lopez, Gérard le Roux founded LeRoux Brown Lopez Business Language Services in 2013.
After obtaining a degree in Occupational Psychology in Quito, Ecuador, René moved to Germany in 2001 and started alternating work between family counselling and private consultation in English and Spanish. Over the years he has become more and more involved with languages and with the issues surrounding the organization of Business English communication forums in different companies. Working with people from a wide range of occupations continues to be one of René’s main interests, which he also shares with Nick and Gerard, his friends and partners at LBL.
René also obtained a certification for English-Spanish translation from the UNED in Madrid and a BA in British Studies from the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.
He has been consulting business professionals and company employees since 2005. He has primarily worked through small agencies that provide a more focused and personal approach to Business English consultation. Members of Deutsche Telekom as well as Ancotel / Equinix, cloud Kleyer and Komteamer are among the many clients Nicholas has worked with. All of which are IT or Telecommunication companies located in the Rhein Main area.
Nicholas hails from New York City and his background includes 26 years of Emergency Service, Security and Logistics experience. He has also initiated English Events such as movie nights, bicycle tours and restaurant visits. He currently resides in Darmstadt, Germany.
